9 Month Checkup

Joshua had his 9 month pediatrician visit a few weeks ago.  It was actually nearly 4 weeks early, so his measurements were not completely accurate.  True to form for our babies, though, his percentages at this stage nose dived.  If he’s like the other boys he’ll bounce back as his caloric intake increases to catch up with his ever increasing mobility.  Dr. Worthington was impressed with his standing abilities and predicted he’d walk before his first birthday.  Time will tell!  She noted, though, that he’s no closer to having a tooth as they all still have a long way to travel.

Overall, Joshua appears to be quite healthy, but I was telling her about how long he can go without urinating (all night, plus a few hours before and after bed with minimal urination during the day) so we will be rechecking his weight and urine in a couple weeks.  She also addressed a little eczema with a prescription which worked well.

Addendum: after repeated long periods of not urinating, Dr. Worthington decided to do more diagnostics to be sure Joshua wasn’t having a problem.  She sent us for an ultrasound at Shands and everything turned out to be fine!
