One Lucky Girl

Today as I looked into Elijah’s eyes as they closed restfully while rocking him in my arms at naptime, the words “lucky girl” popped into my mind.  Yesterday I was giving a blood transfusion to a middle aged dog who hopefully still has a lot of life in her (she’s not out of the woods yet) and treating a very young puppy for a virus with a 50% fatality rate and today I'm caring for my sweet babies, showing them how to grow up.  Do I dare think I’m making a difference in each area of my life?  Do I dare think that I may have a great mix even if I do get bogged down on a daily basis?  Now, I believe more in blessings than luck, but you get the idea.  God really does take care of me.

Now I’m off to clean bathrooms, mop floors, wash dishes, pay bills, and fold laundry all during naptime when I’d rather cozy up and relax on this dreary day.  Hey, it can’t all be glamorous, but I’m happy to have this life to take care of.
