Happy Easter!

I wrote this last week and never posted…

First off, let me say Josiah has had the most fun in the past few days as he has since Elijah was born.  He hasn’t had much in the way of child playmates since then, but he got to play with Savannah last weekend and his other cousin, Nathan, two days last week, and ALL of his cousins on my side of the family on Easter.  Now he gets to see Nathan once more tomorrow and then go to his sitter’s house Tuesday to play with his playmates there.  He’s been one excited little boy!

IMG_0019 IMG_0028 I forgot how easy a one year old is!  So happy with little expression of opinion and moves slower than a two year old.  After caring for three kids all one year apart I’m thinking that is the way I’m going to have them in my next life!   Or maybe not.

Now on to Easter…

We spent Easter Sunday at my Grandparent’s house with my extended family.  Since before I was born we have had a family reunion every year with lots of food and Easter egg hunting.  Before we left the house, Josiah got an Easter basket from us and a bag of goodies from Granny and Papa.  I filled his plastic eggs with Gold Fish, Nilla Wafers, and a little candy.  He was in heaven!  I thought for sure that taking it away so that we could leave would cause a tantrum, but he did great.

There was all sorts of play at Gram and Deda’s.  Elijah didn’t do much to participate, but he played his own little role and got plenty of attention.  I was bad and didn’t get a single picture of him and he was even dressed really cute.  The older kids played on the battery powered John Deere Gator (kid’s size), had a blast on the swing, played with toys, and hunted eggs.

110 112The Gator was loaded down with 4 kids, Audrey and Savannah included, but I didn’t get that picture.  Here, Josiah is steering and Ava, who is 5 months older, is pushing the gas pedal.  Neither can reach both at the same time and neither does their job very well since they were stop-go-stop-go the whole time and nearly ran into everything.  Maybe that is because Josiah was busy watching Ava pick her nose?!?

117 119 120 125Josiah was so much fun to hunt eggs with.  He loves eggs (asks for them every time he wakes up) and his eyes lit up when I told him we were going to go look for eggs to put in his basket (he also loves buckets and baskets).  After we listened to the boundaries of the hunt and heard the word “go” we ran across the yard to the first egg and he giggled the whole way there!  I love being his mom!

Both boys passed out on the way back home.

Looks like fun! Too bad you left Elijah at home ;) Jk.. Our newest little men aren't much for egg hunts this year, maybe next year!
