This month he learned to roll over from back to front and has become quite a pro at it. Sometimes he seems to forget that he knows how to go from front to back and fusses when he's tired of his tummy. We can't figure out why he does this because he definitely CAN get on his back himself. It must just be a way to get attention.
His new ability to roll wherever he wants has led to him beginning to creep towards things he wants. It isn't fast or efficient, but it works for now.
While he found his feet last month, he has become totally enamored with them this month and they have become a favorite chew toy - particularly during diaper changes.
We have waited with such anticipation for the first real giggles and he finally rewarded us a few times. They are few and far between as he prefers to squeal with delight, but there have been some definite giggles. He's so cute! I can't help myself.
As of last month, he would wake during the night maybe once a week or so and need a little help getting back to sleep, but this month he has been a very solid sleeper. He still wakes us up somewhere between 6-7 am (usually closer to 6) with the happiest of sounds coming over the monitor. He stays happy in his crib while we mosey out of bed and finally get him up around 7 am. We had a rough patch with naps and rejecting the crib earlier this month after one particularly crazy week, but we are back on track and he does great going down for naps again.
Josiah is still nursing exclusively although we will begin introducing solids this next month, which we are very excited about. He loves to watch us eat, so I'm hoping it will be fun. This past month he had his first experience with a sippy cup. We have only used it a handful of times, but he has done really well (once I figured out you had to "activate" the spout. Who knew? Poor guy couldn't get anything out until I figured this out. There is a learning curve for parents, too, I guess.)
He also had his first babysitter (other than Grandma) experience this past Friday. I did a little vet relief work and he stayed with our wonderful friend, Annie. They seem to have had a good time (at least Annie has convinced me so) and Josiah came home very content and happy. Thank you, Annie, for watching him and allowing me to have some peace of mind!
He cracks me up!
Yummy toes!
First sippy cup experience.
Happy boy.
Jacob would rather I didn't post this, but it's priceless.
This is Josiah's third rollover and you can tell he struggled a bit, but by the end of this day, he was a pro.

Hey.. we DID have fun! You may have me spoiled, though, thinking I may have a baby that well behaved one day! I didn't realize I was his first babysitter.. you were so laid back, impressive! I guess that's where he gets it from ;)
aww he is just so adorable! Ican't believe he is 5 mos old already, wow. So big, I have loved watching him grow. He is just beautiful. I love the pic of the sippy cup, it is bigger than he is! He is very blessed to have you two as parents. We just love your little family
Wow, he is soo cute. So exciting to watch them learn, grow. I love how relaxed you are about sleeping. Could I come sign up for your classes???
