Josiah Jacob arrived on Saturday at 8:26 pm. He weighed in at a whopping 6 lb 13 oz and was 20 inches. He surprised us Friday afternoon when I went into labor. I went to the hospital a little after midnight, got settled in, and then the labor stopped. I was so far dilated that they did not want to send me home, so the next morning they induced labor. We waited…and waited…all day with no results. I had as much pitocin as they could give me and still no effective labor. At 7pm they broke my water. Before the doctor could even finish the procedure I was in transitional labor and Josiah came 1.5 hours later. So much for easing into the pain.
I think I fell in love with Jacob all over again throughout the weekend. He was so incredibly helpful and supportive. I was blown away by how well he handled my craziness in labor (even when I grabbed his neck…yes, I really did, but I couldn’t help it and I apologized). His advice is to make your wife cut her nails on the way to the hospital – even if she doesn’t plan to use them. I could not have asked for more from him. I’m sure some of you will disagree, but I think I have the best husband in the world. And now I have a new little man to love!

Since last Saturday we have just been busy learning about our new little man and taking care of him and each other. It has taken me about 3 interrupted days to do this blog post. We are all doing really well. Josiah is healthy, eating like a pig, and is not too fussy (hopefully it stays that way).

What great pics... God blesses us with what we need when we need it. Apparently God gave Jacob a neck for more than one reason :) It is a good thing he still has it too! Josiah is amazing. I would love to do anything you even think you might need done!!!
