We had to reschedule Elijah’s three year wellness visit due to illness, so he just had that visit today. He did a great job and, overall, looks very healthy. He has coughed a few times yesterday and today and it’s a nasty sounding cough that he did in front of Dr. Worthington, so she postponed his vaccines and we’re hoping it doesn’t turn into anything. While he dodged his vaccines, he still got the finger prick to collect his blood, which he thought was cool and didn’t even blink an eye at. He’s a tough cookie!
Before the visit, I talked with Elijah about what would be expected of him and he agreed he’d be good. It was kind of funny because he did do everything, but not without showing a bit of independence, if not defiance. Dr. Worthington told me, with a smile, that it was par for the course at this age and that if he truly wanted to object then it would look much worse (I know, I’ve seen it!) but that he did eventually do exactly what he was supposed to, after a bit of grunting and wiggling. While I know these things are true in stages, it is nice to know that in the eyes of someone who goes through this routine with this age group daily, he was good.
Here are his stats:
Height: 37.75” 55th percentile
Weight: 30# 50th percentile
and his BP was 88/46! And I thought mine was pretty low! He’s a chill guy.
One last note…Elijah hesitated to do the things the doctor asked him to do, but he exuberantly told her all the things he could do like putting on his socks and whistling – a new feat he hasn’t even gotten close to mastering. All of this chattering prompted Dr. Worthington to note in his file how great his speech is! We already knew that though. He never stops talking!

big boy! Henry's 3 year visit was by far the worst. We had to skip the hearing test and I could definitely tell the nurse was annoyed! Glad E did better :)
