I had an OB appointment yesterday. There’s not much to report because everything appears to be great, his head is still down, and I’m measuring right on track. His heart rate was about 130 and going strong. We’ll have another appointment in about 2 weeks that will include one last ultrasound.
We discussed (along with the pediatrician earlier in the week) how to approach Joshua’s birth and aftercare based on his group B strep risk, though the risk is small. Generally, 4 hours of IV antibiotics are given during labor to prevent infection, but since my labors are generally about 2 hours from start to finish, we aren’t expecting that to be possible so we have to decide if we want to pursue other measures. Pray that he remains healthy no matter how it’s handled.
This week I’ve been a bit overwhelmed by how much I need to do to get ready and how little time I actually have to do it. It seems like just a couple days ago that we realized we had 8 weeks to go and that we better get organized and we haven’t accomplished much since then!
