Round Two

This is just a quick post to note that after a year of Miralax treatment for Josiah, we are going back for round two with the doctors…or is it just a continuation of round one?  Thursday he is getting blood drawn for a full panel of tests as well as a range of fecal tests, all this in preparation for me to meet with his pediatrician next month for a consultation without him present to discuss the next step, which will likely be referral to Jacksonville.

The Miralax has helped to quiet his symptoms to a bearable state, but they are still present and taking him off meds does not appear to be an option.  After 6 months to a year his gut was supposed to be “re-trained” but we haven’t experienced that.   I’m still hoping he can avoid a diagnostic workup, but it is likely the only way to get to the source of the problem.  Please pray he’ll do well with his blood draw (last year was not a good experience, at least for me!) and that maybe we could come up with a solution so that we never even need that referral.
