The weekend after the first cool snap of the season, I actually had a Saturday off with flexible plans. We took advantage by going to the park with a lunch from Subway.
Josiah still kind of prefers the baby swing because we push him higher in it. Every now and then he lets go with one hand and gets a bit wobbly when he’s in the big boy swing. It scares me to death to watch!
He can be talked into the big boy swing, though!
Josiah prefers running around like a lunatic and playing with the rubber ground cover to playing on the actual playground equipment. It is a bit frustrating seeing as how we can do it at home!
Elijah was Mr. Popular. No, we don’t know these people!
Here’s some random fun:Not the greatest picture, but you get the point. Elijah is now sitting up and Josiah is enjoying the improved opportunity to play. Yes, Josiah likes to line up his trucks, trains, and automobiles :)
These days Lilah is a bit more cautious around Josiah. She still likes to hang out near him, but she seeks safety under the couch that he likes to play with his toys on. These are their normal spots.
Josiah painted for the first time at church last Sunday night and he LOVED it! He begged and begged to paint more and it was the first word out of his mouth the next morning. Jacob bought him some watercolors and brushes that day and he painted for an hour.
And yesterday Jacob didn’t have to work in the morning so he watched Elijah for me so that Josiah and I could have some one on one time together. We went to the splash park and had it entirely to ourselves! I haven’t had the opportunity to enjoy Josiah by ourselves since Elijah was born and it was great! I forgot how fun he could be when I wasn’t having to tell him “when Elijah takes a nap…” or “when Elijah wakes up…” I enjoyed just focusing on him. Such a sweetie!
After the splash park we hit Subway – a semi healthy favorite. We even had a blast there. He broke his cookie into a million tiny pieces to eat it, just for fun. Normally that would annoy me, but we were just taking our time and laughing about it. I did learn a lesson, though because after this we hit the grocery store. I should have called it quits on a good note rather than filling his belly and delaying naptime. He was good, but coming home was a chore rather than a fun ending. At least he crashed for a long nap!

Sounds like some fun days! Elijah is getting so big, I feel like I haven't seen him in forever!
